Mobile Version (BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad etc.)
Provide a mobile version of Workbooks that can be used on mobile devices such as BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad etc. Obviously the Workbooks' interface is "rich", with multiple windows and tabs, so the requirements of a mobile version are likely to be simplified from those of the full web browser version. View one screen at a time / not display all fields / different simplified screen layout.
A project is underway to make Workbooks easily accessible from Mobile devices.
In Q3 we will deliver the first of several releases. This release will be an online interface for users of Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and users of recent Android devices to access and update data in Workbooks using a ‘native’-style user interface.
Subsequent releases will widen device support (e.g. to include BlackBerry 6 OS and Android tablets) and will eventually deliver an ‘offline’ capability.

Thanks I have had a look at the preview release and looks good.
In the meantime however and even perhaps going forward it is possible to have the option to still view it as a full website for things like the ipad? My ipad has become useless in the use of workbooks whilst waiting for the app to be developed. Facebook do this, when browsing the site at the bottom it gives you the option to see the standard full site instead, gives people options, which is always nice. -

@Raquel, @Anonymous - we are intending to release this before the end of this month.
@Alex - Modern Blackberries, running OS6 and later, are expected to work. If you can contact us I will pass you a URL if you would like to try things out. Older Blackberry devices will, unfortunately, not work.

Do you have an actual release date for iPhone/Blackberry compatibility? At the very least you could optimise the site so that it's more mobile browser friendly. I do admin implementation for small and new businesses and was looking to recommend workbooks to some of my clients but without mobile access it becomes an immediate no go for pretty much all my clients so far which is a big shame. Would be good to know an actual ETA rather than a general 'it's in the roadmap/soon/as and when the developers feel like delivering it". Thanks in advance!
(as if to illustrate the point I tried to simply type the above and post on my iphone, it was so difficult (actually impossible) to do I had to email the comment to myself and wait until I had access to my computer again, not great) -

@Tim Crook. In the Person 'show' screen we are going to allow you to 'Copy to local Contacts' which will mean you can locate a set of People (e.g. using the 'Watched' flag or by name) and then choose to copy individual records to your phone where they will be available whether you are online or offline.
Full synchronisation can already be achieved if you are an Outlook user and your iPhone syncs with Exchange: install and configure the Workbooks Outlook Connector. More direct sync - of iPhone Contacts directly with Workbooks via the Mobile client - is not currently planned.

As an iphone user I am looking forward to the release of a mobile workbooks. One suggestion: would it be possible to have a local storage of favourite contacts on the phone which syncs with the platform when a 3G/Wifi connection is detected? That way I can quickly retrieve information about contacts without worrying about navigating the system or internet connectivity. in the office I could earmark contacts which I am likely to meet over the next couple of days and have their recent data onhand regardless of network stability in their area.

@Brian We will look to support Windows Phone 7 however the schedule depends on how Microsoft progress with it. WP7 is fairly new and currently the OS is in a start of flux with a new browser being rolled out on it shortly - 'Mobile IE9'.

I can't believe a CRM like Workbooks still doesn't have a mobile version (I am checking in after 15 months)! Even ZOHO which cost a fraction not only has a good mobile version but also integrates with Gmail / Google Apps. Workbooks is way ahead in terms of "build quality" and very feature rich. Pity, no mobile version yet. BTW, we plan to remove laptops from all our Sales Engineers and give them Tabs + Smartphones. Workbooks, wake up please.

I think we should have done our homework first but we purchased IPads for our sales force with the hope of streamlining updates into the system after meetings etc. Others have chosen to tread this mobile route in the competition and I hope Workbooks will follow suit quickly. The ability to update records and access leads on the road is a must to stay ahead of our competitors. Come on guys get it sorted for us

In the modern world the mobile device is key for staying in touch and for exchanging data etc. it seems totally logical to add a mobile version for us to all use.
