Templates and Editable Output Documents

Add the ability to design templates ["in MS Word" - * see note below] so that they can be uploaded to Workbooks and used for the production of output documents such as quotes and invoices.
The current xsl templates are powerful, but you need to be familiar with, or learn, XSLT.
A simpler method of creating and editing templates would make things a lot easier in this area.
* Note: Templates will be defined in Workbooks and can be generated out to Google Docs. It's easily accessible via the web and in-keeping with web-based technology.

Note: This was delivered in the Summer 2011 release on 2nd September.

“We are making improvements to the Template functionality offered by Workbooks. This will allow you to define a template that can generate either a Workbooks Note or Email record, or a Google Docs document.

Templates will make use of field placeholders / tags e.g. first_name and output the value into the Workbooks Note or Email record, or the Google Docs document. In addition to using fields in the record itself you can also generate multiple sections corresponding to Line Items for example those within an Order or Quotation.

Once generated, you can share the Google Docs document, restrict access, or allow others to collaborate and make changes. A web link / URL to the document is retained in the Notes tab."
